Thanks & Greetings

Dear All,

I trust we have a long stretch of time ahead of us to get know one another. For now, let me add my voice to the chorus thanking Bernie for his vision, initiative, and patient labor in founding and maintaining this marvelous site.

OLP & Literary Studies has been fixed as my homepage for as long as I’ve known about it (since October of 2010 then, when I had the pleasure of meeting some of you in Cambridge, Mass.). It has been an invaluable resource to me, pointing the way to new texts, new authors, new lines of inquiry, indeed new worlds of thought.

It’s an academic blog, of course. But more than that, it’s a community. I’m doubly grateful to Bernie for his good faith and this opportunity to serve a community that has meant so much to me.

I’m honored, and I’m humbled too. I have a lot to learn — about site administration, but also about Ordinary Language Philosophy and Literary Studies. As lead editor I will continue to depend on the editorial board and you, the readership, for your contributions and feedback. Please do write me with your announcements, calls-for-papers, events, publications, and reviews, as well as more general comments and questions. (I’m sure we can crowdsource answers where I have none.) Bernie’s exactly right: I’d be delighted to hear from you.

Yours,

Carly
