Wittgenstein and Ethics

This is by no means a comprehensive bibliography, but we thought that our readers would be interested in the following studies of Wittgenstein and ethics published within the last ten years.  We will be adding gradually to this list over time, and if you know of other works on this subject please leave us a note in the comments.

Paul Johnston, The Contradictions of Modern Moral Philosophy:  Ethics after Wittgenstein (1999)

Johnston’s earlier studies, Wittgenstein and Moral Philosophy (1989) and Wittgenstein:  Rethinking the Inner (1993) may also be of interest to readers. For those who are new to the subject, Sabina Lovibond’s Realism and Imagination in Ethics (1983) remains one of the best earlier studies on the relevance of Wittgenstein’s philosophy to ethical thought.
