We’re delighted to announce that William Day (Philosophy, Le Moyne College) has a new essay out — entitled “Zhenzhi and Acknowledgment in Wang Yangming and Stanley Cavell” — in the latest number of the Journal of Chinese Philosophy, a special issue dedicated to ”new comparisons in Chinese and American philosophies.” In addition to pieces comparing Thoreau, James, Peirce, Royce, and Dewey to Confucian, Daoist, and Buddhist thought, you can find in this issue Prof. Day’s wonderful piece, which discusses Cavell’s notion of acknowledgment and its sympathies with (the Neo-Confucian) Wang Yangming’s notion of “real knowing.”
